Beacon Communities Promotes LeAnn Hanfield Curtin
to Senior Vice President, Development
Curtin will lead the Boston-based development team and oversee
Beacon’s development pipeline in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Boston, MA – Beacon Communities today announced the promotion of LeAnn Hanfield Curtin to Senior Vice President, Development. In her new role, Curtin will lead the development team in Beacon’s Boston corporate office and oversee the company’s affordable and mixed-income residential projects in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She will also join the company’s senior leadership team.
With more than 15 years of experience in real estate and affordable housing, Curtin has successfully managed the implementation of over 3,000 residential units across New England, New York, and the Mid-Atlantic. Her work spans complex adaptive reuse projects, mixed-use new construction, and complex rehabilitations of existing housing. Since joining Beacon, she has led a portfolio acquisition that expanded Beacon’s footprint in New York State and secured financing for multiple large-scale projects throughout New England.
Her team is currently overseeing two projects in New Haven, CT: The Atwater at Ninth Square, a mixed-use, historically sensitive development in the heart of the city; and Brewery Square Apartments, another historic rehabilitation project in partnership with CPP. In Massachusetts, she is currently closing on a large, new construction development at 299 Broadway in Somerville, MA that will include housing, retail spaces, landscaped open space, and a new public park for the community. In her role, she will be overseeing an active pipeline of over 2,000 units in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
“LeAnn is an exceptional leader whose vision and expertise have shaped some of our most impactful projects,” said Dara Kovel, CEO, Beacon Communities. “Her ability to drive innovative, challenging developments while navigating the complexities of financing and construction makes her ideally suited to guide our work in Massachusetts and Connecticut.”
Prior to joining Beacon, Curtin spent 12 years at WinnDevelopment, where she served as Vice President and managed multilayered real estate projects from inception through completion. She holds a B.A. from the University of Miami.
“I’m thrilled to move into this expanded role,” said Curtin. “At Beacon, we pride ourselves on delivering high-impact, transformative projects that strengthen communities. I look forward to continuing to advance that mission alongside such a talented and committed team.”
